Beyond the Series

Not every painting begins with a larger concept.

Sometimes someone I care about gives me the reason. Sometimes an image lands in my head and I want to see it become real. Sometimes I just want to know whether I can pull something off.

These are the works that live outside the named series — gifts, personal pieces, experiments, challenges and one-off ideas.

The subjects and styles change because there are fewer rules.

What connects them is the spark: something that existed only as a thought becoming something tangible.

Some are made for other people. Some are made simply because I want to know what will happen if I try.
